What’s your title?

Mason/Plasterer.

Can you briefly describe what you do?

My job primarily consists of drywall and plaster applications. I utilize modern and historic techniques relevant to the trade in restoration and preservation of buildings and structures around the University.

How long have you worked at Facilities Management?

I have worked at FM for 12 years.

What do you feel was your greatest accomplishment at work this past year?

Serving as a representative on Facilities Management Employee Council and Staff Senate has been my greatest accomplishment at work this past year. I never imagined serving in this capacity at the University. This opportunity has truly been an honor and privilege.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Nelson County, Virginia.

Did you have a dream job as a child?

As a child, I dreamed of being a zoologist. I've always had an interest in nature and wildlife.

What do you like to do in your time outside of work?

I love music. Occasionally I like to "tickle the ivory" and pen a few lyrics when time allows.

Who or what inspires you and why?

I am inspired by my faith. It's my source of peace and strength that challenges me to be the best person I can be.

Can you share a great piece of advice you’ve been given?

There's greatness in each of us. We only need to tap into it and discover our full potential.

What is the best part of your day?

Coming home to my family is the best part of the day.

What’s one place in the world that you would like to visit that you haven’t before?

I would like to take a trip to Africa.
