A group of Facilities Management employees is assisting with the University’s Finance Strategic Transformation project, which will improve financial and purchasing processes through the use of Workday Financials.
The project team — led by staff from Finance, Programs & Informatics and Technology & Innovation — has spent the past year preparing for the transition, which will occur in June 2022. Preparation has included reviewing existing Facilities Management data and processes to identify opportunities for streamlining and standardization, as well as providing input on the design of how the new technology will interact with existing systems.
The launch of Workday Financials includes the replacement of UVA-wide data sources that are used in multiple systems, including UVA’s internal billing codes known as PTAOs. Since the transformation will affect multiple systems – such as AiM work order management, e-Builder project management and utility billing systems – it involves collaboration across all Facilities Management departments.
