What’s your title?
Senior Specialty Trades Worker in the Sign Shop
Can you briefly describe what you do?
My job duties include design, printing, cutting and installation of interior signage such as wayfinding, room ID, and exterior building signs found throughout Grounds. This also includes the production and delivery of the COVID-19 shields and signage. I am also involved in most special events and projects that take place for the University.
How long have you worked at Facilities Management?
It will be five years on January 9, 2022.
What do you feel was your greatest accomplishment at work this past year?
I have worked on many different projects for the Facilities Management Sign Shop. I would say my greatest accomplishment has been related to the plexiglass shields and signage. I had a major involvement in the design, delivery and installation for a majority of the shields. This included work at UVA Health, with a total of over 300 shields for classrooms and several offsite clinics. Each site had to be measured and designed to accommodate various configurations involving their specific needs. These plexiglass shields helped to assist in the continuation of daily operations for the University and medical center during the COVID-19 pandemic.
