What’s your title?
Zone 1 South Maintenance Electrical Supervisor.
Can you briefly describe what you do?
I oversee shop 345 which includes the electricians and pneumatic tube technicians. Together we maintain the hospital’s normal and emergency power systems, along with the vast pneumatic tube delivery system.
How long have you worked at Facilities Management?
I have been with FM for over eight years.
What do you feel was your greatest accomplishment at work this past year?
My greatest accomplishment of the year would be coordinating the replacement of a vital hospital power transfer switch. It required months of prep work and a collaboration between several trades and outside contractor groups. I am pleased to say that with all the forethought everything went well, limiting the impact to patients and staff.
Where did you grow up?
Alexandria, Virginia.
Did you have a dream job as a child?
I had given a lot of thought to being a “rockstar” but unfortunately I didn’t have any musical talent.
What do you like to do in your time outside of work?
I must enjoy working on junk because I do quite a bit of it on my off time.
Who or what inspires you and why?
I get inspired through challenges because I enjoy troubleshooting and problem solving.
Can you share a great piece of advice you’ve been given?
Always try your best, so even when unsuccessful there are no regrets.
What is the best part of your day?
Spending time with family and friends.
What’s one place in the world that you would like to visit that you haven’t before?
I would like to take some road trips someday and maybe drive Rt. 66.
